I have a confession…I don’t cook.  Honestly…I don’t remember the last time I cooked a meal (sorry mom!)  Bub does it all, along with 99% of the grocery shopping.  To be fair though, he does love to cook and he’s very good at it…Which is ideal because I am very good at eating!  It’s basically the perfect arrangement.

However, while I don’t wear an apron, or bake cookies, or prepare meals for my man every night, I do have a serious appreciation for all things culinary-related: I watch the Food Network religiously, I am drawn to all kitchen gadgets and appliances, I adore spices, fresh herbs and cute jars of yummy condiments (I have a fridge-full to prove it) and as I said before, I love, LOVE to eat!  Which is why I can’t get enough of the Well Seasoned Gourmet in Langley.

This gourmet food store and cooking school is awesome.  Their shop carries a wide selection of high-end gourmet foods, with a particular focus on hard-to-find ingredients.  Their selection of salts, oils and vinegars is especially impressive to a gal like me who loves anything salty or oily.  Their staff is kind, knowledgeable and helpful and they sure know their food!  You are getting experts here folks.

I haven’t tried out their cooking school, but I’ve heard excellent things and just reading about it has me excited about enhancing my kitchen confidence:

“The Well Seasoned cooking school is designed to bring chefs and wine experts to the Fraser Valley to teach us about new ingredients, new techniques & new flavors.  Our kitchen is cozy – class size is limited to 16 so all of the students can get the most out of each experience.

Each week we offer different classes featuring guest chefs from some of the finest restaurants & catering companies in the Lower Mainland.

Over and above our regularly scheduled classes we offer private classes for parties of 10 or more, see more about that on our class schedule page.”

Sounds like fun, no?

Check them out.  Their website it also full of great food and cooking tips, recipes, cookbook recommendations, etc…  Oh!  And owner Angie Quaale’s blog is great for you foodies who want to read about restaurants in the Lower Mainland (she visits new ones regularly) and learn more about food events and get insider tips.
