Date night doesn’t happen much around my house. Not because Bub and I are boring, but as most of you will understand, life is just so busy! Commuting to the city everyday takes alot out of me and by the time Friday night rolls around, I generally throw out the typical “I’m too tired! Let’s just rent a movie.” However, every now and then we do find the energy to partake in a little dating action and the most recent was a highlight…
It was a random Wednesday and Bub suggested we head to White Rock for a walk on the beach. I had just completed my drive home and was famished, so I suggested a walk AND dinner in White Rock. Once there, we randomly picked the restaurant based simply upon the fact that it was a beautiful night and we wanted a patio table. Bub’s eagle-eye spotted a couple leaving a table at Pearl, so we rushed through the front door and requested the spot.
I am SO glad we did. It was incredible! Little did we know we’d chosen an Award-winning restaurant, that not only served delicious food, but also featured a fantastic wine list and outstanding service. I was in Heaven.
The restaurant is contemporary and sleek, yet comfortable and relaxed. As I mentioned, it was Wednesday, so I arrived in Lululemon’s, a t-shirt and Nike’s and while I may have been a bit under-dressed compared to other patrons, I didn’t feel totally out-of-place. We sat out on the patio, enjoyed the view, indulged in an outstanding meal and when the sun went down, our server offered me a cozy fleece blanket to cover my shoulders.
Great food, great wine, great service and a great date. It was the best Wedneday I’d had in a long time!
