If home is where the heart is, then Montage, in Fort Langley could be my home. This store is irresistibly beautiful, elegant and just plain lovely. I have had a minor love-affair with it since I first discovered it a couple years back (when I was still a city girl who believed nothing good existed beyond the Alex Fraser Bridge…silly me!)
I was immediately taken by the stunning chandelier hanging in the entrance – this brilliant piece used to inhabit Vancouver’s Westin Bayshore Hotel, but now graces the doorway of Montage. From the moment you enter you feel special; you feel wrapped in warmth and beauty. If you’re like me, you’ll be fascinated by the array of crystal and stemware; the plush, colourful cushions and rich linens; the grande mahogany and teak furniture; the delicious soy candles and local brands of bath and beauty products; the inspiring pieces for your bedroom and bathroom and the variety of eclectic items to accessorize your home.
You’ll also find glittery charms and amazing local jewelry just for you (or the one you love!), as well as precious organic baby clothes and traditional wooden toys for the baby in your life.
Apothecary jars of lavender, beach glass, rose buds and bath salts enhance the shelves, while Denise Christensen artwork hangs on the rich chocolate brown walls. Everywhere you look there’s something new to adore and with the moody lounge music dancing in your ears, you may just find yourself wanting to curl up in a corner and stay a while….I know I do!
