Thanks to Danna for suggesting I check out In the Company of Friends. I was driving here when I stumbled upon La Belle Vie (post below)…a double-header in Cloverdale! Thanks again Danna.
In the Company of Friends is tucked away on a side-street in Cloverdale, so not a place I would have found on my own. In fact, even though I had my helpful Mapquest map, I still drove around the block like 20 times before I figured out where it was! That being said, I’m directionally-challenged (as Bub often likes to remind me), so most of you probably won’t have the same issue…Anyway, I was very happy once I finally found them and not just because everything was 25% off!
In the Company of Friends is a charming little shop filled with lovely decor for your home, as well as soaps, candles, picture frames, home accessories and jewelery. The style is traditional, warm and cozy, with less focus on the contemporary and chic and more towards the warm, comforting style of a beautiful farmhouse, or a relaxed cottage.
They had a ton of great Halloween decorations, so I can only assume they often carry seasonal items, perfect for those of you who like to adorn your homes for the festive seasons (my girlfriend N does this and I am totally in awe of her…Bub and I had our Christmas tree on our patio until June this year, so that tells you how well I keep up with the seasonal stuff.)
I also found they had a nice assortment of things for baby, including onesies, growth charts, bedding, teddy bears, dolls and even some furniture. I picked up a few adorable alphabet-themed gift boxes to fill with gifts for my friends who are mommy’s-to-be.
…PS – The shopkeepers are the nicest women! They really do make you feel like you’re in the company of friends.
