I am so freakin excited! Got home last night from Mexico and was going through my mail when out fell a beautiful little promo flyer for the grand opening of the Marble Slab Creamery right here in Langley! I looked it up and actually, this will be our second location (other one is near Colussus Theatre in the Thunderbird Village). So I suppose this may not be as exciting for some of you who have already had the pleasure of enjoying their delicious ice cream, but for those of you who haven’t…or those of you who, like me, thought they still had to venture all the way to Denman Street in Vancouver to indulge in this sweet treat…this is fantastic news!!
The Marble Slab Creamery makes some of the best ice cream I have ever tasted. Seriously. I’ve eaten my fair share of ice cream in several locations around the globe and there have been few that measure up to this stuff. It’s fresh, creamy, sweet, sticky, savoury and best of all, FRESH. Every ingredient used at the Creamery is of the finest quality and made in-house. They make their ice cream in the store with the freshest dairy products – there is no processing or preservatives - and they hand roll their freshly baked waffle cones, which range in flavours from vanilla cinnamon to dark chocolate and butterfinger. They’re incredible! And the aroma this fresh baking gives the store is divine.
Ordering your ice cream at the Creamery isn’t your usual experience either. Once you select your flavour of choice, the ice cream will be scooped onto a frozen marble slab, where your nuts, fruits and candies of choice (which they call “Marble Slab Mixins“) will be blended in, until your delectable dessert is placed upon your waffle cone. Oh, my mouth is watering just writing about this!
If I hadn’t just spent an entire week in Mexico indulging in too many carbs and far too many Cervesa’s, I’d be going to the Creamery tonight. Instead, I’m going to eat a salad. But after a few more kickboxing classes and maybe a couple runs, my reward is most definitely going to be a trip to the Marble Slab Creamery to enjoy “the freshest ice cream on earth.”
