Checked out U Lounge in South Surrey last night with the fabulous Melissa Joaquin from Five Corners (www.five-corners.ca) and Editor in Chief of LOVE.Magazine (Langley, White Rock and Surrey’s permier modern living lifestyles magazine.) Jennifer Koning, owner of JK Model Staffing and new Urban Suburbanite, also joined us to chat about all the great things happenind beyond the city. It was a fantastic evening!
U Lounge is a sophisticated room, with super high ceilings and a chique, contemporary vibe. The white, floor to ceiling drapes that separate the booths create a sexy atmosphere, enhanced by the glowing lights and jazz-funk music playing in the background. The lustre and shimmer in the room reminded me a little of Opus Bar in Yaletown! The ultra-modern tables and chairs, coupled with the large bar in the centre of the room complete the look of a modish, hip, designer room.
We were there for cocktails, so just enjoyed a couple nice glasses of merlot (the NK’MIP merlot to be specific.) I also tucked into an appie of delicious gyoza’s, which were fabulous. I noticed a nice cocktail list, a variety of wines and of course a diverse menu, with lunch and dinner items available.
The crowd ranged from groups of gals out for a few cocktails, guys hanging out, enjoying some pints (and chekcking out the girls having cocktails 
, couples having dinner and men and women who seemed to be hosting après-work meetings over wine and appies.
Definitely a place for everyone to check out!
PS – Rumour has it they feature live DJ’s on weekends, so good chance U Lounge will also turn into one of “the” places to hit up on weekends.
