Love this adorable boutique in Maple Ridge!
Owner Megan Wray wanted to bring a touch of urban-flavour and city-vibe to Maple Ridge and with the opening of Gingerly in March 2008, that’s precisely what she did (we Urban Suburban’s applaud you, Megan.) Plus, her goal with the shop is to bring local and Canadian designers and artists to the community…another reason to give her some kudos!
The shop began as an extension of Wray’s personal jewelry design company, Gingerly Designs, which she’s had for five years. She designs two collections a year (Spring & Fall) and sells through Gingerly as well as other local retailers.
Gingerly features some fabulous designers, including: Lemonade, Flight Path Designs, Patina Designs, Track and Field, Innergypsy Designs, Farmers Daughter, Olive Essentials Bath Care and Bliss by Heather.
Plus much, much more! I’m quite sure you’ll love it.
PS – I had to ask Megan where she came up with the name…”I wish I could say something cool like, my grandmas name was Ginger, or I had bright red hair as a child…but that wouldn’t be truthful,” she said. “The word gingerly means delicately and carefully and funnily enough (though I didn’t know this when I started the company), its Latin root means well bred or well born. So go figure! I love the simplicity that the word evokes and so I thought it was a perfect fit.”
I couldn’t agree more, Megan!
