Bringing Sexy Back – Boudoir by Cathy Empey

I’m a big believer that us ladies need to stop being to hard on ourselves.  Yes, we all have our days (for instance this morning, I was convinced my calves had gotten fatter and opted not to wear my favourite skirt in favour of boring black pants.)

But in general, I think we need to be a little kinder to ourselves and embrace all that makes us who we are:  wrinkles from years of life; bloating from a night of chocolate and wine with friends; sagging and stretching from the birth of children…Whatever it is, it should never stop us from feeling sexy and confident.  So, when I came across Boudoir Photographer Cathy Empey, I knew I had to find out more about her…cause this gal is all about celebrating women!

Cathy, a Langley mother of six (yes, six!!) started her business after the birth of her last child in November 2007.  After having a maternity shoot done, she realized how incredible it was to see the happiness she was feeling inside, reflected back at her from the pictures.

“I saw myself for the first time as beautiful, sexy and gorgeous”, she says.  In that moment, Cathy knew she had to give that same feeling back to other women.

“Pregnant or not, I knew I could make a difference to women all around me”, says Cathy.  “Using my camera to make other women feel gorgeous and sexy is the best gift I can give to the world.”

And that’s precicely what Cathy has done with Boudoir by Cathy Empey.

Boudoir means “a women’s bedroom or private sitting room”, so Cathy’s pics are all about celebrating the fun, flirty, strong, sexy and confident you!  Her amazing images are modern and artistic; no cheesy or low-classy poses here.  Take a look for yourself, because they really do speak for themselves.  They are also a testament to Cathy’s ability to make her subjects feel comfortable, relaxed, feminine and beautiful.

Best of all, Cathy’s message to all of us is that we are sexy; we are strong; we are fun; we are flirty; we are confident; we are sensual and we are gorgeous!  And not because men, or society tell us so; simply because we feel it and believe it, from the inside out.

“Every woman should have sexy photos taken of themselves”, says Cathy.  “Whether they’re for that special someone in your life, or just to remind yourself that you are gorgeous!”
