Be sure to read to the end of ths post to enter to WIN a FREE Mallybib!
I was stoked to discover that not only are Mallybibs made locally, but the brilliant entrepreneurs behind the original leather bibs are a husband and wife team who frequently look to their five and seven year old kids to make design choices! How fun is that? Nothin like a family team to build an empire!
Nicole Garza, fo
under of Mallybibs was inspired to create these adorable, functional and super-stylish bibs while she was on maternity leave with her daughter in 2005. “I was frustrated with laundering so many bibs, so I put my design skills to the test and designed a stain resistant / easy to clean LEATHER bib!”, says Nicole.
Mallybibs have grown in popularity since then, thanks to the trendy designs, fun colours, the ease of cleaning, and of course the fact that the handy magnetic clasp allows them to be stuck to the fridge between meals!
Nicole, who grew up in Chilliwack, now calls Mission home with her husband Ron and their kids. She does her best design work in a clean and organized, white office, while sipping a chai latte and listening to music. This serene work environment is obviously workin’ for her, because Mallybibs is expanding yet again!! Nicole and Ron are excited to have recently opened their factory boutique at their warehouse in Abbotsford (at #3-2303 Windsor Street.)
“It’s open M-F from 10-4:30pm. It’s a place where you can find all of our designs in both sizes all the time. It will also be a designer clothing outlet with updated inventory starting next week! We will also be launching an option to personalize our bibs with names on the pocket starting this week.”
There’s no doubt this is just the beginning for Nicole, Ron and Mallybibs and aren’t we lucky to have them so close to home? Nicole says she loves owning a business in the Fraser Valley, where she can have the best of both worlds – “a low key ‘valley’ lifestyle where we can raise our children comfortably, while running a successful business with my husband.”
I’m a little jealous of her, aren’t you?

love it! cute, local, and very practical!
This looks like a great gift that you can personalize – great for those kids whose names are unique.
I have a Mally Bib for my son. I love it! In fact, while travelling (you only need to bring this one bib on a vacation – it’s so easy to clean up) we (read: my husband) lost it and I went out a bought the exact same bib as soon as we got home!
