Simply Summer. My ‘Review’ of Angela Tunner’s new E-Cookbook

I’ll admit, I was kinda hesitant when Angela Tunner, The Renaissance Gourmet, invited me to review her new E-Cookbook, Simply Summer, Gourmet Meals Made Deliciously Easy with Tips for Elegant Living

Me???!!  I don’t cook, I just eat!

But Angela is a culinary and lifestyle expert, and let’s face it, I can’t eat take-out sushi forever.  So, I accepted the challenge!  And not only did I whip up some delicious, healthy and EASY meals, I learned a few things along the way!  (I thought about taking pics of my meals to show you, but presenation isn’t my strong suit.  Maybe Angela can teach me about that next time!!)

Simply Summer, WINNER of the Gourmand World Cookbook Award for Best Easy Recipes, is based on the principles of no-cook cooking, so you can prepare these recipes in the microwave or toaster oven, or without using heat at all.

My first dish was the Mango Coconut Chicken…delicious!  I then moved on to the Lavendar Cherry Brownies, which I’ll admit I was skeptical about at first…but they were incredible!  Both savoury and sweet – the perfect combo.  We then tried out the Parmesan Pasta with Zuchini, Artichokes and Capers, which rocked and we also enjoyed the Smoked Salmon, Brie and Balsamic Portobello Mushroom Baguette…sooooo tasty!  OH and I haven’t stopped eating The Blueberry Lemon Pie with Custard or The Strawberries and Cream Soup.  Both are amazing!  I had no idea cooking could be this simple.  Nor did I think simple cooking could be elegant.  Thanks for proving me wrong Angela.

In addition to the scrumptious recipes inside her book, Angela provides readers with helpful advice for living a fabulous lifestyle, easy entertaining tips, ideas for coping with the summer heat and (most helpful for me) conversions and measurement equivalents.

And did I mention that this fantastic e-book is ONLY $1.99?!!?  There’s no excuse for any of you not to buy one.

Aren’t we lucky that a culinary and lifestyle genius like Angela lives right out here in Langley?  Be sure to check out her website for tons of lifestyle, cooking and eating tips.

Look for her Lifestyle E-zine coming out this year, published under her budding publishing & multimedia empire, Eat Like a Millionaire Omnimedia, Inc.

Thanks Angela!  I’m stuffed.  And I now have some elegant, tasty and simple recipes to add to my growing repertoire.  I may just become a cook one day!  (but don’t hold your breath…I might just stick to writing.)
