This Sunday, June 14th the long-awaited Golden Ears Bridge will open! And in honour of this occasion, they’re hosting a bridge-deck celebration from 11am – 4pm.
The party will start with a 7km run, sponsored by the Running Room, on the North side of the bridge at 8:30am. Pre-registration is required. Click HERE to register.
The festivities will all take place mid-span on the bridge, beginning 11am, with the official ribbon-cutting taking place at 1pm, followed by more music and entertainment and plenty of activities for the whole family.
It’s going to be a celebratory day for our newest bridge over the Fraser, which links Surrey/Langley with Pitt Meadows/Maple Ridge. Bridge officially opens to commuters on June 16th and will be toll-free for the first 30 days. After that, drivers will have to pay a toll, but you can get a discount by registering for a Quickpass transponder, an electronic tolling device that can beleased from TransLink for $1 a month.
