Love that Langley City is starting to re-invent itself with the addition of some fun boutiques, restaurants and specialty stores. I’ve believed for a while now that this area has serious potential to become a funky, ecclectic shopping district. Hopefully establishments like NY Grill & Bistro, who are opening their doors on Monday, June 8th, will help Langley City on its way!
Located in “Sundel Square”, the same complex as The Seasonal Experience and the almost-open Frosting Cupcakery, NY Grill will
be serving up some of our faves: Appies like Calamari, Chicken Strips, Nachos and Wings; Soups & Salads will include Beef Chowder, Clam Chowder and several different varieties of Caesar Salads; Sandwiches and Burgers boast some yummy options such as a Grilled Chicken Pesto Sandwish, NY Club, Classic Burgers and a NY Burger that sounds delicious! Heartier appetites might choose one of their Pastas, like the classic Fettuccini Alfredo, or the Spicy Prawn Linguini and of course, what would a NY Grill be without the Grill? Selections include New York Steak, Blakened Salmon, Cajun Chicken and Garlic Prawns. My mouth is watering.
They’ll be featuing daily Lunch and Dinner Specials, for $4.95 (lunch) and $7.95 (dinner), as well as NY Drink Specials. They also do take-out and have a party menu available.
They’re marketing themselves as the place to go for Trendy Style, Unique Decor and Mega Portions for Mini Prices.
Sounds good to me! Grand Opening is on Monday June 8th. I can’t be there…but if you go, be sure to leave a comment or e-mail me at theurbansuburban@gmail.com to tell all of us about it!
NY Grill & Bistro was horrible tonite, raw chicken wings, calamari so tough we couldnt eat it. Raw burgers, over cooked steak, undercooked pasta and roast potatoes swimming in grease and so mushy you wouldn’t believe it.
If they keep that level of quality up, they won’t be around in a few months time.
Oh no! Too bad. Hopefully as they grow and settle into the new business these things will change. Fingers crossed this was all just ‘growing pains.’
well maybe they just needed to make a few adjustments because now they are hopping busy ALL THE TIME!!! and the food is perfectly cooked and tastes great.
I visited the NY Grill and the decor was great. It looked smart, clean and hip. The menu had great selection, food reasonably priced and big size portions. That is about all I can say that I truly liked. Food was like eating a bland left over meal. I believe everyone should give it a fair shake. However once is suitable for me. Just being honest as I have really enjoyed all the other places highlighted by the Urban Suburban.
Went to NY Grill on a saturday night.
Good Parts: Nice decor, friendly staff (Upon arrival), Excellent prices
Bad Parts: Slow service, not very friendly server, Table of 10 ppl= 1 person got there dinner 15 minutes before everyone else! , could not substitute anything! (not even add an extra chicken breast to meal) , no debit/credit, no split bills, got RUSHED out before 10 oclock ( for a table of 10, were told at 930 kitchen is closing, told at 945 bar is closing)… lets just say it definitely affected the girls tip! Bland food, undercooked calamari
That is really too bad!! SUCH mixed reviews about this place. Some have written to say they loved it, others such as yourself have had terrible experience.
I suppose inconsistent is the best word for them.
Such a shame…
I just found their website and thought I’d share:

I haven’t even eaten there yet and already I can tell you that I won’t be. I called to get information about ingredients due to certain food allergies and they didn’t even know what Monosodium Glutamate was and they weren’t even willing to check. Also on their web page it states that they have dinner specials on Mon-Fri from 5 p.m.-9 p.m. Look at the Menu…Friday doesn’t even exist. Misleading information. Friendly Customer Service Skills during our telephone conversation was definitely non-existent.
Great Food Cheap Prices and friendly service can’t get much better than that …..Chris
Enjoyed every minute of the yummy food at reasonable prices!
The decor was hip and thewaitress very helpful /friendly.
I’d definitely return!
