My Urban Suburban

Still a month away, but excitement is growing (well mine is anyway) for Eat! Fraser Valley, held at Tradex in Abbotsford September 11th – 13th.

I’m a huge fan of the Food Network and super excited to check out some of their special guests gracing the Celebrity Stage, including David Rocco and Ned Bell. The Grapes and Hops Presentation Stage is always a fave and hosted by local Wine Diva herself Daenna Van Mulligan, I’m sure this is going to be a fun time. Another fave feature of the event is the Bite of the Valley Restaurant Pavilion. Here you will find local Fraser Valley restaurants serving up some of their best and most popular dishes for everyone to try. So if there’s somewhere you’ve been dying to dine, or you’re not familiar with many of our outstanding restaurants in the Valley, now’s your chance to check them all out in the same place!

Currently participating restaurants include: Seasonal 56, Bull ‘n Raven Eatery & Lounge, Onyx Steakhouse & Lounge, Q Restaurant, Ravens Restaurnant, Pearl on the Rock and many more.

I’m also looking forward to the Wellness Pavilion, as I’m trying to get a little more into organic foods, natural and fair-trade products. I look forward to learning a little more about them and hopefully finding some great, local products to try.

All in all, Eat Fraser Valley is a fantastic opportunity to try out new foods, in particular local ingredients and products, learn some helpful cooking tips and tricks, and talk with food producers and growers to learn a little more about the food we eat.
